Birthday Festivities!

Our sweet Ava LuLu celebrated her 1st birthday on November 13. We had lots of fun celebrating! The night before we all went to Coldstone because I'd signed all the kids up for the Birthday Club there, so Ava got a free ice cream. It was her first experience eating ice cream.

The first bite was a little bit cold:

But, then she got used to it:

Pretty soon, she couldn't get enough of it!

In fact, she loved it so much that she decided using a spoon took way too long; it'd be much more efficient to just dig right in!

Yummy!

Claire and Cole shared their own ice cream and then enjoyed making faces for the camera:

The next day on Ava's actual birthday, Daddy helped her open her presents:

An impromptu parade led us all into the kitchen for cake and ice cream:

Ava didn't care how cute her polka dot cake was, she'd just had enough of her party hat.

She was hesitant about eating the cake at first, but then became convinced that it was good stuff (although, she mostly just ate frosting!).

There's a good frosting face shot!

Happy Birthday Ava Rose!

I can't believe she's a year old already -- weren't we both just pregnant in nursery together a couple months ago? But I guess if Camden is 14 months old then Ava has to be a year now. Time flies. Cute pictures!

Very fun! I can't believe how long Clair's hair is getting - have you ever cut it? And - do you take all your pics with your nikon? Just curious! CUTE PICS!
