This is what happens when Mom takes a "day off" because she doesn't feel well (i.e. I was home with the kids all day, but didn't pick up after them or do anything except lay around).
Cheese and crackers in the formal living room.
Cards spread out everywhere and the bounce house blown up and then left in the entry way.
The velcroed-on-so-tight-mom-can-can-barely-take-it-off cushion off of the chair.
A zip line created across the stairs.
Beads, you know the ones that are so tiny that you can never pick them all up, spread throughout the house.
Popcorn and crackers all over the floor and butter knives duct-taped to rope.
More cards.
Graham crackers ground into the carpet all the way up the stairs.
So to all of you who wonder what stay-at-home moms do all day, just let them take a day off and you'll realize what they do!

Oh my goodness! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has butter knives duct taped to things. :) What a wonderful post!
Cass -I hope you are feeling better. I know I am after checking out the pictures. Miss you friend!
My goodness, I completely empathize with you! I have to really mind my comments when I have those types of days and Jared "helps" with the kids. Remember when we went VTing and I came home to a poop smear on the ground? Yeah. Enough said. :) And just as a dislaimer, we sure do love you, husbands!
what a day!!
Amen...I am going to show this to Dave, ha ha I really enjoyed this. Did you get feeling better?
creative kids!
NO KIDDING!!!! I second what you say about just watching to see how destroyed the house gets if you are not CONSTANTLY cleaning up!!!! Loved this post! Too funny/horrible!!
Oh Cass .. Let me know if you ever need your kiddos to have a playdate. I agree that moms don't get to take sick days. But I'll make you a deal, I'll take yours for a sick day when you need it and vice versa??
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIDY! Last night was SO fun, now I'm really sad you're going to be gone for so long. Travel safe and we'll see you soon!
have fun cleaning...
