Why Moms Don't Take Sick Days

This is what happens when Mom takes a "day off" because she doesn't feel well (i.e. I was home with the kids all day, but didn't pick up after them or do anything except lay around).

Cheese and crackers in the formal living room.

Cards spread out everywhere and the bounce house blown up and then left in the entry way.

Beads, you know the ones that are so tiny that you can never pick them all up, spread throughout the house.

Popcorn and crackers all over the floor and butter knives duct-taped to rope.

More cards.

Graham crackers ground into the carpet all the way up the stairs.

So to all of you who wonder what stay-at-home moms do all day, just let them take a day off and you'll realize what they do!

Swim Lessons

The kids all took swim lessons this summer since it's absolutely essential to know how to swim here. The kids were a little nervous at first, especially Cole (surprise, surprise), but they ended up loving them. On Cole's assessment card (like a report card on the last day) under the suggestions part, the teacher wrote "Don't argue with the teacher so much, Cole! Ha Ha! Good job!" Apparently he handled his nervousness about doing new things in the pool by arguing with the teacher and saying he wasn't going to do them. I sure am looking forward to his high school years!!!

These are some pictures that a friend took.

On the last day the instructors took them down the slide. Cole (of course) was crying at first but then loved it.

Ava was crying too and kept saying, "I'm scared!" It sure looks like she's having fun once she got on, but she refused to let me think that she liked it and still said, "No, I scared!" when I told her she did a good job.

The Fun Has Begun!

Photobucket

We bought this huge, slide blow-up pool thing (as you can tell, we have no idea what to call it) for the backyard.  Since we don't have a pool, we thought it'd be a fun way for the kids to beat the heat.  You can see how much fun they think it is!

Matchy-Matchy

My mom bought the kids these matching outfits.  Aren't they so cute?
