My stomach is in knots. The look in those big brown eyes. I can't stand for that look to be crushed. The sheer hope that lay deep within there...
My sweet girl told me that her friend said that they were going to have a playdate on Friday. She didn't ask me if she could have a playdate with her like she usually does, she told me that the friend had said it was going to happen. And that look in her eyes when she told me. It made my stomach twist with the insecurities of childhood. Did the friend really want her to come over? Or did she just casually toss the idea out and Claire clung on to it, so excited that she was being invited, accepted by this girl? Don't break my sweet girl's delicate heart. I've seen her at recess a few times, off by herself kicking rocks while all the other kids play around her. Is that just normal kindergartner behavior? Don't they all play by themselves sometimes?
Please don't hurt my baby.

So... how did it turn out? I too hate those things. We had a neighbor behind us that Cameron use to play with and it would kill him when there was someone else over there and he wasn't invited. Hard to learn life's lessons.
Oh, Cassidy! I'm so sorry. I hate that awful girl stuff...and hate to know that it starts so soon. It's taken me until I'm almost 30 to really learn to cope with some of that "stuff". I hope no feelings were hurt!
I've only had a boy on the playground, but he seems to enjoy just hanging out with himself. Sometimes with other kids, sometimes alone. This was my biggest concern entering school...hurtful kids. You just gotta hope that it doesn't happen and if it does, know about it through conversation.
Brea's my little loner. I know it happens. I just always feel bad because of it. Kiss that baby and tell her London would love to have a playdate!!
Are you alive??
Oh no! I have always felt my heart break over any possible unhappiness for my little brother, and hoped maybe motherhood would give me a little thicker skin, but I guess I will always be sensitive! But I was always a girl who needed a little time to herself, so maybe she does too...
