'Delicate' Explained

Ok, I know I have way too much catching up to do on this blog to be posting about this, but I've gotten so many comments, questions and other responses about my 'Delicate' post (my 11 year old sister called me bawling after she read it, just to name one), that I feel like I have to do a little explaining.  I was trying to document some of my feelings in that post and how vulnerable you can feel as a mom watching your kids grow up and deal with life.  Claire is totally fine and has friends and everyone likes her.  She ended up playing with the girl that I wrote about in the post.  She can be shy at times and also, since she doesn't like to run around too much on the playground :), she sometimes plays alone at recess.  But I've noticed that a lot of other kids play alone, too.  It's kind of the nature of that age.  It's just hard as a mom because you worry so much and want to make sure other kids like your child and that she never feels lonely or left out.  I'm sure Claire doesn't even remember the incident and didn't feel nearly as vulnerable as I felt for her!  So, anyway, there's no need to worry about Claire!  :)  I just needed to get some of my feelings out to make me feel better!

A NEW POST! Halleleuah! I have NO CLUE how you spell that. I am meaning to call right now but have to run out to the store before Tim gets home. Anyway, I love you - I miss you sister soul. But, it was great to finally catch up yesterday. I have lots more to fill you in on though...so, I'm not done talking yet.

call you soon,
me

I can't remember if I commented or not, but I could completely relate. I think Zion is a tougher cookie than I was (or probably even am) about approaching new people and being willing to put herself out there. It's normal to worry, though, just like it's normal for the kids to have to work through things and play alone at times. :o)

I'm with shannon...hallelujah on the new post. I understood what you meant...my 7 year old likes to play alone, too sometimes. It is hard to watch as a mother b/c as adults, alone=sad, and it isn't necessarily true.

Cassidy,

Where is the link to your CDs, don't tell me you have stopped singing. Well, you are moving in the right direction, California is not far away from Phoenix. Good looking fam, my wife does the blog thingy too. I find they are the easiest way to figure out what everyone is doing. curveballcity.com/tammy.

Hey! I just found your blog in a very round-a-bout way... but I love it! I've been wondering what happened to all my Vienna friends. Can you believe it's been 10 years?! I'm actually going there tomorrow. I'm so excited. My husband is taking me for my birthday. It's a 6 hour drive from where we live. Before you get TOO jealous... I haven't seen my husband in 8 months, and won't see him again for 6 months. It's a trade off eh? Anyway, you can get to my blog by clicking on my name above. Your family is BEAUTIFUL!! (no surprise) Ciao!

Hey its been a really long time! How's it going? I read your posts and I know its irrelevant now, but I like photo #1 best, I'm sad the red brick house has sold, and boy is the new house the opposite everything of the old one. Big, new. As for Delicate--you are a poet. By the way, did the girl come over for a playdate? Okay, well I'll end now. Nice to see your blog! Sonia XXOO
