That's what I felt like shouting all day last Tuesday, because late that morning we decided, spur of the moment, to go to Disneyland. Our friend Raschell called and asked if we wanted to go with her since her husband was going to be out of town all week. She used to be Snow White full-time at Disneyworld, but now only works one week a year so she can keep her "Princess Status". Because she's still an employee she could get three of us in for free and a discount on the one ticket we had to pay for. She also got us discounts on anything we bought in the park. How could you say no to that? I quickly packed stuff up that afternoon and then when I picked Claire and Cole up from school I told them that we were driving to Disneyland RIGHT NOW! Grant was able to come, too so Raschell, the kids and I picked him up after work and drove to California (it's about 5 hrs away) . The next day we spent at the park and had SO MUCH FUN! The weather was beyond gorgeous and there were no lines anywhere. It is the only way to do it. My favorite memory has to be going on Tower of Terror. Both Claire and Cole wanted to go on it to Grant and my utter astonishment. They both were doing pretty well until the ride started to go up. Before the ride starts to drop it plays some creepy music and shows a creepy clip of a movie. As soon as the movie ended, Cole burst out screaming, "AHHHHHH!!!!!" like he was being eaten alive. Everyone on the ride started dying laughing. I had one lady tell me after that she was laughing the whole ride thinking of his little scream. I was proud of them, though, for doing it. Cole didn't ride on anything even remotely scary after that, though!
"Cole! Stop running!"
Waving to Dad on California Screamin':
Mickey danced with me!
Cole wouldn't pose with any of the princesses or fairies because they were girls.
What a fun day! The next day we swam in the hotel pool, had a quick shopping spree to Tai Pan and then drove home. The funny thing is that Melissa, Grant's sister, was flying in to come visit us that night. We made it to the airport straight from California ten minutes after she had landed! It was so worth it, though. I'm ready to go again tomorrow!
Oh! So stinking much fun!! I love the pictures outside the castle.
ReplyDeleteI love Ava in the A. And I just decided that I want to be TinkerBell. And Grant on the big ride ...maybe him and Nathan should just go together to Disney Land some time they would have too much fun though.
ReplyDeleteNo way! We were at Disneyland a week ago! Just missed ya. So glad you guys got to do a fun trip. Way to live spontaneous! Aiden was all about the Matterhorn and Space Mountain and we've spent a good amount of time "reliving" the experience through U-Tube. Great pics too, BTW!
ReplyDeleteahhhhhhh FUN. It's warm. You're wearing short sleeves. I'm jealous. :D That looks like it was a blast and even mor fun that it was spontaneous!
ReplyDeleteI'm still impressed that you guys were willing to pick up and go! Awesome. I had a great time and hopefully we can do it again sometime!
ReplyDeleteAll the luck! That is awesome! I can't believe you got Claire and Cole on Tower of Terror. I got Max on it last time and he was holding my hand (which is usually so embarassing to him these days)and biting the nails down to nothing on his other hand. I love that ride!

ReplyDeleteI love the pick of Raschelle and Claire going through the castle. We have season passes for the year, we should all go together!!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Looks like you guys had a blast at DL- i love going where there is no crowds! We just went in Nov. and the kids are dying to go again. I was wondering if I could have you take pics of Lucy while she is still young and willing to sit still. Let me know your pricing and if you'd be available to take some. Thanks!
ReplyDelete5 hours away--how fun! not bad to get in for such a deal, too.
ReplyDeleteSo, I just found your new blog site from Beckys's blog. I am crying from laughing so hard at the funny things your kids say! They are hilarious, I can't wait to one day meet them in person! I think Grant and Tyler would get along really well too. I'm ready for some warmth, maybe we need to head to Phoenix!
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo lucky! I love the pic of Claire with Tink... she looks scared to death! Love you!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Maddy
